We are thrilled to announce another speaker for this years Glasgow event- Michelle!

Mainly blogging about food, Michelle was selected as the official blogger at BBC Good Food Show in 2013. Having grown up in Singapore and Kuwait, it’s fair to say she’s got a pretty extensive palette!

Michelle will be giving us all her tips and tricks into blogging and what she’s learnt in her time as a blogger!

We did a bit of a Qs&As with Michelle so you can all get to know her a bit better. Here’s what she had to say:

How long have you been blogging for?

“Under the pseudonym ‘ananyah’, I’ve been blogging for 12 years this June. In total, I’d say around 14 years. A very very long time in blog years.”

Why did you start blogging?

“I grew up all over the world and my blog started as a way to keep in touch with friends, it started as a personal blog while I was at University and has evolved with the times.”

Looking back to your first post, is there any advice you’d give yourself?

“If it’s not something you don’t want your mother to read, don’t write it.” (We personally feel this is some of the best advice ever! *removes post about that drunken night out…*)

What are you looking forward to the most about speaking at BlogConf?

“Meeting fellow bloggers, learning from each other and getting over my fear of public speaking.”

What would be your top tip for someone who is looking to start blogging?

“Before you start, find your niche. There are so many blogs out there, you need to be able to distinguish yours from the rest. Whether it be food, fashion, lifestyle‚Ķ. What can you bring to the table?

Blogging is hard work and at times feels like a full time job in itself. You have to blog for the love of it, not for the possibility of something for free.”

We can’t wait to have Michelle with us at BlogConf Glasgow and we hope you can’t either! If you would like to see Michelle, along with the other amazing speakers we have at our Glasgow event, tickets are still available and can be found on the Glasgow page :)
